Coronavirus Policy and Office Closings

Believe us when we say a global pandemic was definitely not on our radar if you asked us how we'd like to end the 2019 tax season.  That being said, it's unfortunately the world we live in right at the moment.  And while we know over time the spread of this virus will hopefully be contained, we must act accordingly in this moment.

As of Wednesday, March 18, we are officially cancelling all in-office appointments for all clients until the end of the tax season.  We are encouraging clients to either mail their tax documents to our office or to upload them to our client portal in lieu of coming in for their appointment.  Our staff will be continuing to complete returns before the filing deadline in April unless federal or state government issues a mandate for us to close.  In the event your return can not be completed before the deadline, we will file an extension for you.  We will notify you at that time whether any money will need to be sent with your extension to protect you from other penalties and interest.

For clients whose returns have been completed and need to be signed and picked up, our office will remain open until Wednesday evening at 6 PM.  Returns that have not been picked up at that time will either be mailed to you or set-up for electronic signature.  Please contact us to let us know which method you prefer.

In an effort to help stop the transmission of the virus, beginning on Thursday, March 19, the office will no longer be open to the public for any reason.  Please submit information needed to complete your return to us through the mail, portal, email, or fax.  One document that we require all clients to complete each year is our Client Information Sheet and you can download it here.  All other worksheets can be downloaded here.  When sending us your information remember to include that sheet.  Matt or Ryan will contact you to review your taxes, ask follow-up questions, and answer any questions you may have just as if you were in the office.  Again, the office will be closed to the public until further notice, so please, do not come to the office.

When your return is finished it will be sent to you to review and sign using one of two methods (please note all eligible tax returns will be electronically filed just as we normally do them):

  • Portal delivery with e-signatures. The fastest and most secure way to finish your taxes. *Depending on if we are in full lock-down mode and even staff can't make it to the office, this may become the only method for delivery.
  • Your paper copy will be mailed to you with instructions for signing.  You can review your return at home and sign and return the required signature documents with your payment.

We appreciate your understanding to these changes during this time and we thank you for your patience as we work through them together.  Please rest assured that we will make sure that you and your taxes are taken care of.
